Where to eat in NYC

New York is one of the best food cities in the world. From legendary bagels to perfect pizza slices and aesthetic coffee spots, eating your way through NYC is part of the experience.

Here are my personal favourites — the places I genuinely go back to.

Best Bagels in NYC

If you try one thing in New York, let it be a proper bagel.

Apollo Bagels

In my opinion, Apollo Bagels has the best bagels in NYC. They’re perfectly chewy on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and taste incredibly fresh. Whether you go for a classic cream cheese or something more indulgent, it’s simple, iconic, and very New York. Go early — they sell out.

Other great NYC bagels: Russ & Daughters, Liberty bagels, Ess-a-bagel, Black seed bagels, Bagels and Schmear, Leon’s bagels.

Best Coffee Spots in NYC

Ralph’s Coffee

Ralph’s Coffee is iconic It’s chic, cosy, and very “New York fashion energy.” Even if you’re not a huge coffee person, it’s worth visiting for the vibe alone. Perfect stop between shopping in SoHo or Fifth Avenue.

Fellini Coffee

If you want something more local and relaxed, I love Fellini Coffee. It feels less touristy and more neighbourhood-style — ideal for a slower morning before exploring the city.

Best Pizza in NYC

There’s a lot of debate about the best pizza in New York… but these two are my personal winners.

Bleecker Street Pizza

Bleecker Street Pizza is, in my opinion, one of the best classic NYC slice spots. Crispy base, rich tomato sauce, perfectly melted cheese. Simple, no-frills, and exactly what you imagine when you think “New York pizza.” Grab a slice and walk around the West Village — it’s a whole experience.

L’Industrie Pizzeria

If you want something slightly more elevated, go to L’Industrie Pizzeria. The crust is light and airy, the ingredients feel premium, and the flavours are incredible. It’s very popular — for good reason. This is the kind of pizza you still think about weeks later.

Other amazing pizza places: Joe’s pizza, Rubirosa, Juliana’s pizza.
